OK Go just released a new video for their upcoming single "Last Leaf". Contrary to their previous music videos that became huge viral hits (Here It Goes Again, This Too Shall Pass and my favourite, A Million Ways), this one is actually animated. And while there is no way denying that the technology behind the animation is impressive, the video is not as enjoyable as the previous ones. I was hoping for something more captivating... Anyway, find out for yourself.

thesixtyone - a music adventure
I just stumbled upon this Mashable article about the best new website designs. I wasn't surprised #NewTwitter and The Wilderness Downtown made the cut, but thesixtyone.com certainly grabbed my attention. Admittedly, I've never heard of it before, but I know that after today I'm going to be a regular visitor. Do check out the website, the full-window music player design cannot really be done justice. You get to listen to relatively new and undiscovered artists, and have a lot of fun while doing it. If you're looking for another way to discover new music, I couldn't recommend anything more than TheSixtyOne!

Nokia N8 promo
HD video recording, 12 megapixel camera - now that is just unheard of for mobile phones. Does this mean that Nokia will finally start to fight back against the iPhone, BlackBerry and Android devices? If this does not succeed, I really don't know what will. Nokia might not retain the first position in the market for mobile devices for very long... This will make them or break them.
But anyway, great promo. Shot entirely with Nokia N8, it is undeniably impressive.
Find out more about the phone here.

Adobe ROME
Adobe just launched their web-based office suite. Early reviews say that the new software (available online and as a desktop application) has a few advantages over the popular Google Docs and MS Office Live Workspace. Put simply, it will allow average users to create rich media content without purchasing more extensive (and expensive) software. That is to include things such as printed flyers, interactive presentations and websites. Check out this video to have a look at the functions Adobe Rome will offer.
It seems that Adobe is now seriously branching out into the broader consumer market, where they will certainly face fierce competition. Project Rome is now available as a free preview trial at http://rome.adobe.com/. Go check it out!

HTML5 is the future of Internet!
There has recently been a lot of buzz surrounding the topic of HTML5. This next major revision of HTML includes great new elements that will certainly benefit developers and Internet users – it incorporates features such as video, canvas, geolocation and offline web applications. But really, the one I am most excited about is video. Nothing new, you might say. Well have a look at The Wilderness Downtown, a new collaborative project between The Arcade Fire, Chris Milk and Google. The film follows a character running the streets of the neighbourhood where YOU grew up (provided you can give an address with Street View coverage). The pictures of very familiar streets and buildings take centre stage, and you essentially get to watch a completely personalised (and deeply personal) video set to The Arcade Fire’s fantastic new single, “We Used To Wait”. I am not going to lie, I was simply blown away, but what excites me even more is the possibilities that the film represents. I will forever worship a person who can create a portal where users get personalised music videos to every song – give it 5, 10, 15 years? HTML5 will be great competition for Adobe Flash, after all it’s much cheaper and doesn’t require stupid plug-ins, making it far more universal.
One major drawback to The Wilderness Downtown – the folks at Google decided not to make it work well in any browser other than Chrome. Call it selfish, but after all, this and all other projects are Chrome Experiments that would require more effort to implement for other browsers. You can forget about HTML5 in Internet Explorer – I can only hope that as the new language becomes more popular, people will finally abandon this archaic browser – or Microsoft will finally get to work.
Have a look at the film – I can’t recommend it enough. Open Chrome, close everything else, sit back and enjoy looking at the future of Internet.
